On August 14th 2010, during the AutoGyro Europe annual flyin, a new Guiness World Record was set for the number of autogyros flying in formation.
Twenty one (21) gyros comprising a mixture of MTO 3’s, MTO Sport’s and Calidus aircraft took to the sky over Hildesheim, home of the AutoGyro factory and formed up as part of the record attempt which has now been formally recognised as a world record by the Guiness Book of Records.
Pictured here are the aircraft that participated in the record setting formation and there are plans to set an even higher record during the 2011 flyin.
