Peter Baker – Bunbury, W.A

Peter Baker operates from Bunbury airport, which is approximately 220kms from Perth on the Southwest coast of WA. The area is very scenic and is subject to wind, the perfect gyro weather. With the new Perth to Bunbury freeway now open,  travel time has been cut down to approximately 1.5 hours.

Theory lessons and exams can be conducted at Peter’s home in Mandurah, which is approximately half way between Perth and Bunbury, or in the open air at Bunbury if weather permits.

The Bunbury airport is owned by the Bunbury City Council. It is an all weather strip which is aligned 07/25 and operates on CTAF 126.7. There are 2 GA flying schools, 2 fire fighting water bombers (active in the summer months), RFDS, Nanchang flights, and a microlight school and club where Peter’s MT-03 shares hangar space, plus a number of private aircraft, all operating from the field. so it can be very busy. Good airmanship is paramount and Peter has established a relationship of trust with all operators on the field.

There are toilets etc on the field and accommodation, food & drink are available in nearby Bunbury. 

Peter’s aviation experience extends from Sailplanes, Hang Gliding, Ultralights to Microlights before converting to the great world of gyro.
